Determine the optimal keyword density with our free SEO tools

In this episode we are dedicated to Content SEO Analysis. How you can determine the optimal keyword density and use our free SEO tools for this, we show you in this Google SEO tutorial. So it’s best to watch until the end.

Our free SEO tools

In this video we dedicate ourselves to our Content SEO Tools. If you missed our previous episodes about search engines, backlinks and test tools, here is our playlist linked for you. All tools can be found for free on our website.
We don’t want to waste time, so let’s start right away.

Content SEO Analysis - The Link Analysis

We have already explained what backlinks are. Exactly the counterpart to this are links on your own page, in blog articles for example. Exactly these can be examined with our link analysis tool. Let’s take Amazon.de as an example. We see the total number of all links, divided once again into internal and external links, as well as nofollow links.
Also, we have already explained the nofollow attribute in this episode here. But what does this bring us?

Are the links on your page set correctly?

If you do not edit your website and the content on it yourself, but your employees, you can check whether the right pages have been linked, whether external links have been created as nofollow links, whether links have been created sensibly and much more.
It can make sense, for example be to link the landing page or category “/Books” also with the anchor text “Books”. This increases your chances that the Google bot will better understand what it is about and thus be more likely to serve that page for the keyword “books”. It would make less sense, for example, to dubious pages as a dofollow link on your own page. This is because Google penalizes this. So much for your own linking.

Content SEO Analysis - How to check the keyword density

But not only links contribute to a better domain and page authority score, but also quasi repetitions. If a word occurs more than once in a text, the Google Bot focuses on it. But be careful! If you take advantage of this and repeat the word in every sentence and headline, it’s called “keyword stuffing.” Search engine bots will then consider this as spam and penalize it or, in the worst case, will remove you from the index. To avoid this, it is best to use our “Check keyword density” tool. On the one hand, this allows you to determine the top keywords, i.e. those that are most frequently found on the respective page, but also whether these are used too frequently or rarely.

How often should a keyword appear in a text?

Among SEO experts, by the way, the guiding principle is that you should target only one keyword per page. So the page should be optimized only for this one main keyword. If you want to rank for another keyword, landing pages and blog articles serve for that.
In our example, you can see that the main page of Amazon almost reaches a score of 100 for the keyword “Amazon”.
It appears 31 times on the home page. There is no patent remedy for how often a keyword should be repeated, as it depends on the text length. The longer a text is, the more often the main keyword can and should appear. Thus, the density results. You can maximize the probability of this keyword being displayed in the SERPs by including it in both the metatitle and the meta description. Which is true for the keyword “Amazon” in both cases. The two green hooks also tell us that.

Read out the metadata in the Content SEO analysis

The last tool of our content section is once again very special and probably only useful for a small part of you. This reads the metadata of each page. But what can you take from these. We have taken a random blog as a reference. In addition to the Meta Title and Meta Description, it can be seen whether a robots.txt file was submitted and indexed, but also with which CMS the page was built. So in this case we are talking about a WordPress blog designed with WPBakery Page Builder. Partially, however, the WordPress or Shopify theme can be determined, as well as the hexa code for the main color of this page.
