Shopify management updates - What to expect in the near future

In this article, we’ll take a look at what’s new in Shopify’s Editions 23 update in the administration area.
First, the new granular permissions are introduced. There are 10 of them, which you can assign to your employees. As you can see here in the example, this includes the right to view, edit and create new products, adjust the price and many more. This gives you even more control over employee access to products. What you also get more control over are the applicable tax regulations, thanks to Shopify Tax. Here you can see when and where the sales tax is to be collected. So far, this feature has only been demonstrated in the US, so we can only hope that it will soon be available in Europe as well. However, innovations have not only been implemented in administrative management; ShopifyQL Notebooks also introduces a new data analysis tool. This allows you to perform data analysis on orders, products and inventory.

In the following practical example, an analysis chart has been created for the last quarter of 2022 for sales, which aims to compare with the previous year. Within a very short time, you will be shown a graph that makes comparison with the previous year a breeze. This makes it possible to make more informed business decisions. The same can be applied on the same basis for the best-selling products. For this you can simply use a prefabricated template and only have to adjust the period. But it’s not just products and sales that can now be kept better in view; the new cohort analysis can also be used to identify the most loyal customers. And the best thing is that the whole thing is not only available to you in the office, but the mobile app has also been significantly improved. Thus, you can not only adjust your store on the go, but also always have the numbers in view.
