Shopware One Page Checkout Plugin - The Checkout Process

In this article we deal with a process that often decides whether to buy or not to buy. Especially when the customer is far from familiar territory, i.e. outside the major marketplaces, anything that seems dubious or unnecessarily complicated can be seen as an obstacle and cause him to abandon the purchase. So, to make the checkout process as easy as possible for the customer, one rule applies – as few clicks as possible until the order is completed. And how can this be achieved? By putting all the necessary information on one page. Let’s take a closer look at how this can be done for your Shopware 5 and 6 store with the help of the One Page Checkout plug-in.

This is how the checkout process works

In advance for the e-commerce newcomers – What is actually the checkout. Translated into German, it means “check out” and actually describes the process pretty well. Think of the online store as a retail store.
The categories are the individual aisles or rows. In one are shoes, in the other pants and so on. The checkout is the shopping cart. Once you have deposited all items at the checkout, the payment process takes place, so you check out of the store. This is exactly what happens in the checkout process, except that a little more information is needed than in the classic retail store.

With the Shopware One Page Checkout Plugin everything on one page

This includes your personal data, i.e. personal details and address, your payment and shipping method – do you want to use express shipping or classic shipping. Sometimes you can also choose between shipping service providers such as DPD, DHL, Hermes and Co. Do you want to pay with PayPal or by Klarna, that will be determined here. At the end you will be shown the order overview, whereupon you can place a binding order. You have already seen here how the checkout process would look like when using the One Page plugin. Let’s see how this would look if the plugin was not active. Here the three areas that belong to the classic checkout form are split. This means the customer has to make 2 more clicks to get to their destination. This may sound like splitting hairs to some, but if you are in an industry where there is a lot of competition, these things make all the difference.

Price plans and compatibility

Let’s see what other features PremSoft specifies. Of course, as just described, this can increase conversion because it makes it easier for the customer to get to their destination, which prevents shopping cart abandonment. In addition, the user experience increases because everything is clearly available on one page. And on top of that, the display also works for mobile devices. Finally, there are two things to clarify – compatibility and price. The One Page Checkout plugin is available for both the 5 Shop and the 6 Shop. Even Shopware Cloud is supported. Here you pay 14.90€ per month. For the self-hosted versions, the plugin can also be purchased once, which would then be at 359€ or here monthly at 39€. The installation is then easily done via the Plugin Manager in the backend. However, if you still need to explain how to install a Shopware plugin, write it in the comments and we will make a video about it.
