JTL Shop 5 Configure comparison list and wish list in online store

In this video you will learn how to configure and display comparison lists and the wish list for your JTL store 5 with the help of this JTL store marketing tutorial. Give your customers the opportunity to compare products according to certain parameters and save the right one on their wish list.

JTL Shop Marketing- Activate and configure comparison list

We continue with this article in our JTL Marketing series and look at the comparison list and wish list function for this.
We also start this time directly in the backend of our JTL Shop 5. To ensure that our comparison list is actually displayed, we move to the standard views in the display menu and to the item details page. Because this is exactly where the product should also be added to the comparison list. The “Add to comparison list” option is located directly at the top right. We make sure that this is enabled. If we want to enable this option for the search results as well, we go to the default elements in the Search & Item List settings. Explicitly in the search settings column we can enable at the very bottom that the comparison list button should be displayed here. Now we want to switch on the list in the box management, so we go under standard elements to the footer and box management. Depending on the priority level assigned to your comparison list, it will be displayed here accordingly. So if there is a number above 21 in the sort, it would be displayed at the very end. We make sure that the status is switched to active and save.

Compare multiple items with each other thanks to this JTL store marketing measure

Depending on which template you use for JTL Shop 5, there may be restrictions, which the text in the orange field points out to us. Now the comparison list would actually be visible in the frontend. However, if you still want to configure them, go back to Standard View on the comparison list itself and here into the settings. I think these setting options are self-explanatory. You have the maximum number, the individual display priorities of the different parameters and at the end still setting options for the column width. Once this is done, save here as well.
By the way, you can see which comparisons have been made by your customers by either viewing them all or filtering by your desired time period. Let’s take a look at the whole thing on the frontend. We can add our product to the comparison list here both from the item overview and from the item detail page itself.

Product data quality pays off here

Here again, it pays to maintain one’s product data so that the customer is provided with all the more parameters that he can then compare. Next to the comparison list icon you can see a heart, which stands for your wish list. That is, this would also be played out by default. Nevertheless, we will now take a look at the backend to see where the settings for this can be found. In the standard views you will see the Wish List tab. If you go to the settings there, you can configure the following.

JTL Shop Marketing - Activate and configure wish list

If the first option is enabled, customers are taken directly to the wish list when they add the product. Basically, wish list can be activated with the next option. A direct sending of the wish list by e-mail from the store, ensures the third option. How many people this can be sent to can be regulated below.
All other settings are self-explanatory.
You can then see which products have been added to a wish list and which wish lists have been sent in the previous tabs. We log in to the frontend as a customer and add a product to our wish list. Seems to have worked in our case. Do you make this wish list public can you as a customer can either copy the link or write a mail with the letter symbol.
