Update to JTL-Wawi 1.8
Step by step guide for your shopping campaign
How you can update your JTL-Wawi to JTL-Wawi 1.8, we explain in this tutorial. It is best to watch the video in full so that there are no problems or you forget something. But now to the Wawi 1.8. Where do you get the installation file?
At “www.jtl-software.de/jtl-wawi-download” you get access to the current Official Release Version for free, which in our case would be “1.7.13.1”, but also the very latest Open Beta 1.8.5.1. Accordingly, this should only be used for test purposes and should not be used in active operation. So to download the version you want, click on the orange button here. Before we start the installer file now, 3 more notes.
Update to JTL-Wawi 1.8 - But this is what you have to consider in advance
Note number 1: The most important thing you should always do before an update is the database backup. We have already shown the implementation in detail in the last video. So feel free to look there if you are unsure. Hint number 2: If you see this message during the installation, then you have forgotten hint 3. So the worker seems to be still running in the background. Therefore hint 3: Always look at the taskbar in the lower right corner beforehand. If the JTL-Worker is displayed there, open it by clicking on the icon and close it by clicking on the “X”.
Update to JTL-Wawi 1.8 - The implementation
If you have observed these 3 things, open the exe file with a right click and then run the update as administrator. Allow the whole thing to happen in the next step. Now we click on “Next”. We advise you to read the license agreement, accept it and click “Next”. Microsoft Edge WebView 2 is also required. If this is not installed yet, leave the checkmark here and continue. We are happy with the installation path, as our 1.7 Wawi is also located there and this would then be overwritten. We confirm this once again and finally click on “Install”. Now, this may take a few minutes for you, let’s activate the time lapse. The last step of the installation should be the reboot to be on the safe side. We’ll skip that for the video.
Database update to 1.8
To test that the 1.8 Wawi is really active, we start it now. And lo and behold, the update had been successful. If we log in now, the database update from 1.7 to 1.8 is already started or we are given the opportunity to perform this by clicking on “Start update now”. This can also take a few minutes.
