Connect Gambio to the merchandise management system via JTL Connector

Connecting Gambio with JTL-Wawi – that is the topic of this screencast.
Where you can get the installation file for the Gambio Connector, where you have to integrate it and how the whole installation process works in your browser, you can find out here.

Procure JTL Connector in JTL Customer Center

The connection of your Gambio store with JTL-Wawi starts in the JTL Customer Center. Here we can find the Gambio Connector under Products -> Shop-Connectors -> Connector Administration and in our case the Gambio 4 Connector. Add the connector, scroll up to your connector administration and download your appropriate version of the connector. Then click Add webshop URL or Change if one has already been entered. Then click on change and the first step is completed.

Connect Gambio with JTL-Wawi by uploading the connector in the FTP client

For the second step, the FTP integration, we need an FTP client. In our case FileZilla, but any other would do. We upload our unzipped jtlconnector folder. In it we still need to set the write permissions for config, db and logs to 777. Thus, part 2 is also completed.

Installation of the Gambio Connector in the browser to connect Gambio with JTL-Wawi

To complete the installation of the Gambio Connector enter the URL of your store into the browser and add /jtlconnector/install at the end. Here it is checked whether all settings in the store and on the web server are sufficient for a smooth process. If we are logged into our store backend we can also directly adjust the customer group visibility settings, which in our case was disabled, by clicking on gambio configuration. After we have adjusted this, save and after refreshing the installation page we see that this error has been fixed. We copy the connector URL and the password, because we will need it in JTL-Wawi. In the status assignment, the order statuses stored in the store are mapped with those in JTL-Wawi. Clicking on it we will be redirected to the order status management of our Gambio stores.

We create a new order status with “Paid” and “Shipped and Paid“. Now we go back to the installation window and assign all related order statuses. After that, click save and continue. In the last two fields you can make adjustments to the way the thumbnails are displayed, as well as to the tax rate. If these settings match your defaults, we need to make one last change in FileZilla and adjust the admin permissions.

One last security adjustment in the FTP client

Here we set the write permissions for the Install folder to 644. In the config directory we need to set config.json to 644 as well. If you now try to open the installation menu again, you will not succeed. Now the store setup for the connector is complete, so let’s go to JTL-Wawi. As I said in the JTL-Wawi article before under Help/Licenses you can call the license management and enter your license key. If you have already done this, we go to Onlineshop -> Create Onlineshop and create a new one. Selects an applicable name. In the webshop URL column you enter the domain of your webshop with /jtlconnector at the end. We had noted down the password, now insert it here and test the connection. Thus, the connection was successful when the notification “HTTP connection to the web store OK!” appears.

Adjustments in JTL-Wawi to connect Gambio

In the new window that opens, you can see the customer group mapping on the left, the parameters to be synchronized in the middle and the applicable tax rates on the right. Now you can bring all your articles and other selected data into JTL-Wawi with a complete online store comparison. When the matching is done, the transferred items will be displayed once here and of course generally in JTL-Wawi. With this you have successfully connected the JTL Connector to Gambio and transferred your article data.
