How to install the JTl-Shop 5

You have to pay attention to the following when installing JTL-Shop 5
Today we will show you how to install the JTL Shop 5 in your test environment. It is important to note that this is currently still in the Tech Preview Beta. We therefore advise against updating a productive store. A test environment is thus required. If you don’t have one yet, you can request a free license with JTL 4 in the customer center or you can request a free test store directly. Here you can find the latest beta.
Upload installation data via FTP client
First, log in to your provider where your test store is hosted. This should include at least PHP 7.1, as earlier versions are not supported in the beta. Now upload the compressed (i.e. not previously unpacked) installation data to the corresponding FTP server. The upload may take a few minutes. After the upload is finished, the ZIP file must be unpacked on the server. This can also take a little bit of time. Once the unpacking process is complete, you can log in to your test store. Here you will be prompted to perform a new installation.
New installation of the JTL Shop 5
This will be done when you click on “here“. Now you see the installation interface of JTL. We start directly with the installation check and click on “Continue to step 1“. All great, because it is important that there is no configuration file. This is the case with our test store, so move on to step 2, check the file permissions. Now comes the most important thing: the system check.
Installation Step 4 – 5
Everything was in the green with our system. There is only one point that was highlighted: magic_quotes_runtime is no longer supported since PHP 5.3 and must therefore be disabled, which is the case with us. Now we click on “Continue to step 4 – database data“.
Here we enter the required data, such as user name, password and database name. We have decided to install the demo data as well. To make sure that everything is correct, we click on “Check data“. All great, so on to step 5 – the admin users. Here the users can be named freely and the passwords are generated randomly.

Once all the data has been entered and created we click on “Proceed to Step 6 – Scheme”. Now the SQL schema is imported – this takes a moment. Done – On to the last step – the finish. After that, we log into the backend of our test store. JTL Shop 5 has been successfully installed.
