Set up contact form for JTL Shop 5
Set up your JTL Shop 5 contact form and offer your customers a way to communicate with you – you can learn how this works either in our JTL Shop 5 Screencast or below in the blog article.
How to create the contact form of your JTL Shop 5
To be able to create your JTL-Shop contact form, you have to go to the backend of your JTL-Shop 5 in the left column to View -> Standard Views -> Contact Form. In the second tab Subjects, we create a new subject. This can be called, for example,“Demand“. In order to forward the contact request to the correct department with the respective subject, enter the appropriate e-mail address for this purpose. The visibility of this subject can be defined exactly here. However, we want to display this to every customer group, so we leave it at the default setting “All customer groups”.
The sorting number is not relevant for us, so we set it to “1”. Then save.
JTL Shop 5 Customize contact form
Subsequently, the contact form can be customized according to our wishes. That means we should provide a salutation option. Since we want to communicate with the customer, a first and last name would be appropriate. Therefore, these must be set as mandatory information. The company name can be given, but if we do B2C trade, it is not always given. Therefore, this field is optional.
All other specifications are to be set individually. At the end, just do not forget to save.
The following must be observed in terms of data protection law
To make the whole thing accurate in terms of data protection, we also set up a checkbox for it so that we can be sure that the privacy policy has also been read by the person filling out the contact form. You can also find this menu under Appearance, but in the Custom Content and Checkboxes submenu. We create a new checkbox, name it “Privacy” and add our text“I have taken note of the privacy policy” .We now link this to our privacy page and additionally specify the contact form as the display location.
Depending on where you want the form to be placed, you need to specify the respective sort number. At the end we still define the customer groups. Save and check in the frontend.
