JTL Shop 5 Create Facebook Shop Product Catalog Export - How to do it

In this article we want to show you how to export your product data from JTL Shop 5 and easily integrate it into Facebook Shop. The whole process is done in 3 simple steps. So let’s start with step #1.

Step #1 - Create export format

You need to create an export format in the JTL Shop 5 backend. To do this, go to the administration, in the export settings on “More formats”. Here you create a completely new export format. Name it right away so that you know what is meant next time. Selects UTF-8 as character encoding. We want to export both father and child items. The file name is not mandatory, but the extension .csv is. You can copy the code you have to enter into the header as well as into the export template field here.

Code for header:

id<tab>availability<tab>condition<tab>description<tab>image_link<tab>link<tab>title<tab>price<tab>brand<tab>google_product_category<tab>gtin<tab>mpn
Export template:
{$Artikel->cArtNr}{if $Artikel->fLagerbestand > 0 || ($Artikel->FunktionsAttribute.allow_overselling == 1 || $Artikel->cLagerBeachten == N || $Artikel->cLagerKleinerNull == Y || $Artikel->inWarenkorbLegbar == 1)}in stock{else}out of stock{/if}new{$Artikel->cBeschreibung|truncate:5000}{$URL_SHOP}/{$Artikel->Bilder[0]->cPfadGross}{$Artikel->cDeeplink}{$Artikel->cName|truncate:100}{$Artikel->Preise->fVKBrutto} {$Waehrung->cISO}{$Artikel->cHersteller|truncate:70}{$Artikel->FunktionsAttribute.googlecatid}{$Artikel->cBarcode}{$Artikel->cHAN}
This would complete step #1. As regular viewers already know from our last episode, in eCommerce automation is a very very important process. In case you missed it and would like to know how e-commerce is actually defined and what types there are, the link to the blog is also provided for you here. To be able to use this automation for our case as well, we go to the task planner.

JTL Shop 5 Facebook Shop Create Product Catalog Export - Step #2

This is created in the same administration section in the left column and can be found under Exports Manager. To keep the Facebook catalog up to date, we are now creating a new task. We select the export format we just created and leave the start date at now. An adjustment every 24 hours is perfectly sufficient. Click on “Create new task” to activate it. This means that step 2 is now also complete.

Step #3 - Setup in Facebook Commerce Manager

For the final step, let’s go to our Facebook Shop. In Commerce Manager you have to go to Catalog and to Data Sources. Here you have the choice between 3 different options. We decide to use the bulk upload and click Next. We want to set up a scheduled feed and enter our export format URL for it. This is created as follows “https://euredomain.de/export/katalogname.csv”. Then click on“Next” to configure the rotation, then click on“Next” again and select your desired default currency. After that you would upload the whole thing with this and now you can also sell the products from your JTL Shop 5 in the Facebook Shop.
