JTL Speed Optimizer Plugin Settings

How to configure the JTL SEO plugin individually

How to configure the JTL Speed Optimizer plugin after installation in your JTL store and set it correctly, we will show you in this JTL store tutorial.

JTL Speed Optimizer plugin individual settings

In the last episode, we explained how the Speed Optimizer for the JTL store works and demonstrated how to install it, so you can test it for free for 14 days. This means that it is now also in our plugin list and we can therefore access it directly from the header and want to take a closer look at the possible setting options now. First we have the detail settings. If the item Remove template pre load is activated in the basic settings, which we will come to in a moment, all preloads of the template will be removed, because they are e.g. are no longer useful with the expiration of the Speed Optimizer. However, it can make sense to use e.g. to preload the main font, which can then be entered there in HTML format and then handled separately.

The second tab is then the said basic settings. By default, the template preload would be removed, which would also prevent the main font from being preloaded if we didn’t set that in the detail settings.
Secondly, we have the CSS Optimizer which we already covered in the video before. This pushes all CSS files to the end, so that these files are loaded only after the page is built. Here we can see the processing sequence when the page is loaded without the CSS Optimizer andand once with the CSS Optimizer.

This means that the page is loaded before the CSS files are loaded.
Also the JavaScripts are pushed to the end of the page thanks to the plugin, respecting the order. All files will be moved to the end of the page, while respecting the order as just mentioned, also of inline JavaScripts (these are converted to pseudo external scripts, so that the browser does not run into problems here and does not count these to the inner source code – which then means faster loading). You should keep the recommended setting “Move head scripts only” here. If you do not experience JavaScript problems, the fourth option should also be left active. This is because it merges JavaScripts, which is why, for example. only 1 file has to be read instead of 3 and that thus positively influences the loading times.

Lazy loading for efficient image loading

The last points influence the loading of the images. With the help of the lazy loader, the page is finished rendering before the images are loaded with the Speed Optimizer enabled, and then renders them as needed. What applies to the images also applies to the iFrames, but can also be disabled separately if required. This could include e.g. videos embedded via iFrame count. In the last tab you can only view the plugin information and have your license rechecked, i.e. update it if you have switched from the trial version to the roll version.
