How to configure the JTL SEO plugin individually
How to configure the JTL Supercache SEO plugin after installation in your JTL store and set it correctly, we will show you in this JTL store tutorial.
JTL Supercache SEO Plugin - The General Settings
We will also look at the Supercache plugin in detail. If you missed the blog article on how it works and how to install it, feel free to catch up here. We will start with the General Settings. Here you have the possibility to choose between three cache methods. Either the default cache / the stanadrd cache + SQL or the default cache + files.
For example, if you have have set the Redis cache as default, which is limited in memory, the database method might be more appropriate. In that case, the source codes would be outsourced and only the mapping would be stored in the Redis cache. If you don’t know what Redis is, there is a video about it in the upper right corner. The service life can be set under this. If you want the data to remain in the cache for a week, you have to enter e.g. 604800, because this value is calculated in seconds. The value 0 means unlimited (respectively the JTL default). If it should be renewed daily at time X, this can be set dadrunrer.
Separate settings for language and specific store pages
Differentiations can also be made on the basis of language. So you can for example. cache only english pages. A limiting factor for the project in general can be the amount of memory. If this is limited for you, you can e.g. only cache article detail pages. For that, you would leave those enabled and set all others to “No, do not cache”.
URL parameters and special treatments / cookie settings
Parameters in the URL are mostly used to display the content accordingly. If a filter is specified, for example, the article list should be applied to the filter – this page is then different from the actual page. However, if parameters for tracking or similar are appended, these do not change the output and can be ignored. Here, utm_source, for example, was excluded from the cache by default. Thus, the contact page domain.de/kontakt is identical to the second domain domain .de/contact?utm_source=email. If you want to add more URL parameters, you can enter them here individually. The URL special handling includes the possibility to store separate cache times for certain URLs. Up to 50 URL can be entered here. Cookies have often been a topic on our channel, especially when it came to DSGVO measures. These can be used to track users and user behavior on your site. The supercache does not consider these by default, because they would represent too many different versions. However, if you use cookies to control page output, you must set them here.
JTL Supercache SEO Plugin - The Supercache Settings
For very special cases the cache ID can be extended in the Proficonfig using PHP. However, it is better to keep your hands off of it if you are not an expert in the field. At the end we have the plugin info again, so we are only missing the first tab SuperCache. Here you can see the statistical data of your store, i.e. the generated amount of data of the cache the amount of data of the standard cache, the file cache and the database cache. These refer only to the supercache. If you want to clear the cache click on “clear entire cache” and it will clear all caches, which you should do after any change to the plugin settings.
