On Friday, August 21, 2015, barely 3 days before the official release of JTL-Wawi 1.0, the last beta version 099972 was probably published in the JTL forum. We have taken a closer look at the new features and summarized them for you 🙂
Workflows
What are JTL Workflows?
Simply put, JTL Workflows are freely definable if-then loops for workflows that the user can create independently within JTL Wawi. These loops can be used anywhere along the process chain and run automatically in the background. Thus, a JTL user does not notice them and can work undisturbed in the Wawi.
Packing table
Probably the best innovation is the JTL packing table. Here, especially small online mail order companies were taken into account, for whom it does not make sense to use JTL-WMS (Warehouse Management System) due to structural or organizational circumstances. Often, businesses have grown and computerized inventory management was not high on the owners’ task list. With JTL packing table, shipping is also optimized as much as possible here. With the upcoming feature that shipping labels from logistics service providers can be printed directly from JTL-Wawi, JTL has certainly set standards here.
Own fields
Importing data into the newly created custom fields via Ant works great, as I was able to test in the customer project. Here we use the fields to store the customers’ item numbers and print them on invoices and delivery bills. Clearly a case genius new feature.
Marketplaces
From my customers and from my project with the current beta I have heard a lot of positive things from the daily work. That’s why the conclusion here is also rather positive.
Conclusion
Many changes were made in the background. Starting with the new database management, the changes in the shipping process and suppliers, to the rights management and user management. The way I assess the situation on Sunday, August 23, 2015, just before the release of Wawi 1.0, there will be a brilliant release on Monday. In the first weeks, we expect many with many updates in relatively short intervals.
So if you don’t have to, you should wait a few days or weeks to upgrade to the new Wawi 1.0 yourself or contact your service partner. With version 1.0 we will go through our articles here and adapt them to the new Wawi. That gives then also with me a material to write.
