In the current version of JTL-Wawi there are significant changes which are also due to the new Warehouse Management System of JTL-Wawi. Besides a changed user administration, which makes an update of my article necessary, the printer administration has been removed from the global settings and replaced by a separate printer administration. This definitely brings some advantages. Here we first look at the new “Global Settings”.

As the name “Global Settings” suggests, central settings are made here for the client and the companies it contains.

In detail, the following settings are made here:

SQL Server

Here, for external tools such as the ant or LS-POS, the SQL server used is specified in the form <server name>,<port number><Instance name> entered. Server name is the name of the computer that acts as a database server on the network. If the server is hosted on the Internet, the port number of the SQL Server instance is also required. Separated by a backslash, the instance name is entered at the end, by default JTLWAWI. The whole thing could look like this: “SERVER,58999JTLWAWI” or for a local SQL Server installation “localhostJTLWAWI”.

Foreign platforms

When selling on eBay, you have the option to sell so-called items. If you check the box in front of “Multiply item by quantity when creating order”, the corresponding quantity will be deducted from the stock. Multiply item by quantity when creating order”, the corresponding quantity will be deducted from the stock. For example, a lot of red wine consists of 6 bottles. So if a customer orders 2 of these items on eBay, a total of 12 bottles will be posted from inventory. According to Wiki, you can still optionally try to assign third-party offers to an article here.

Payment settings

In the payment settings, the value added tax rate (VAT. (%)), the name of the VAT rate, the payment term deposited. These three settings can also be changed later individually for articles and customers. The setting “Round total amount to 0.5, is intended for the companies located in Switzerland.

Delete article in the database

When deleting articles normally, they still remain in the database so that they can still be evaluated via the statistics. This setting has the effect that when articles are deleted, they are also deleted from the database forever and are therefore no longer available for later evaluations.

Log file

In the log file, if enabled, information about eBay synchronization and webshop matching is stored. Additionally, the path and file name for the log file must be selected. Please note that these settings will take effect only after restarting JTL-Wawi.

Incoming invoices

This setting refers to the new ordering system in JTL-Wawi and allows to create purchase invoices in the purchase management.

Activate reminder functions in overviews

These settings are not yet documented in the JTL-Wawi wiki. My tests have more or less shown that it has no effect whether the hooks are set or not. Might change with a later version.

Order/Quotation/Supplier Order Options

Item descriptionis used to specify which item description – none, short, long – should appear in the form template when issuing quotations, orders or invoices. With Order additional weight you can specify an additional value that is included in the calculation, e.g. for package inserts that are always sent .Activateafter invoicing Order/Re. not changeable“, these are locked for subsequent editing. With the settings “Release supplier order orders are immediately displayed as “Released” in the purchase management. By setting the hook at Display POS orders/invoices the orders and invoices generated from the POS system LS-POS are displayed. By removing the checkmark at Display totals (Au/Re.management) totals are no longer displayed in the order and invoice management. With the hook in front of “Always recreate/not convert order from quote“You can specify that quotes will be kept in JTL-Wawi and will not be converted into orders.

Article overview

With activate “Show images in the article management on “Mouse over“you can specify that the corresponding product images are displayed when the mouse is moved over them in the article management.

JTL-Wawi ToolBar Iconset

With this setting you can specify that JTL-Wawi will use an alternative icon set in the toolbar.

HTML editor

Here you can specify whether you want to use the new HTML editor, checkbox enabled, or the old one. To make the best use of the WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) feature of the HTML editor, you can specify the path to your webshop here, e.g. https://www.meinshop.de and under Css-Url 1 and 2 the paths to your template stylesheet that you use for the layout of your store, e.g. templates/JTL-Shop3-Tiny312/themes/custom/theme.css and templates/JTL-Shop3-Tiny312/themes/custom/theme2.css.

Other

Under Miscellaneous you can only specify here that you want to activate the alternative colors in the list views.
