Do you know the postal code of Buxtehude, Windheim or Laimbach? But potential customers also live here. In JTL-Wawi you have the possibility to import the postal codes of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The corresponding file is supplied with the installation.
You can find the corresponding menu item under JTL-Wawi → PLZ-Import.
Clicking on Postcode Import opens a “Save As” dialog box. Please do not let this irritate you.The csv file with the postal codes can be found under C:Program Files (x86)JTL-SoftwareExport Files. Select the PLZ_DE_AU_CH.csv and click Save.
If you have already created postal codes manually, the message appears that all existing postal codes will be deleted. Click Yes here to continue the import or No to cancel it.
After a while, depending on your computer and network connection it may take longer, you will get the message that 49620 postal codes have been imported successfully. You can confirm this message with OK.
In the Customer Details window (Customers [F4] → Add or Edit) you can search for postal codes or cities by clicking the button between postal code and city. Either you enter the desired ZIP code in the ZIP code field and get the corresponding cities for the ZIP code in the list below, or you enter the city you are looking for under City and get the ZIP code you are looking for. If the search is successful, select the entry in the list and transfer it to the customer details by clickingSelect.
Unfortunately, not all places are included in the list. Our small Laimbach near Allershausen in Bavaria is missing in the import. Via Add… you can also add missing entries later.
Select the appropriate country, under Postcode enter the correct zip code. Add location and confirm the entries with OK.
