Set up clients and client groups in JTL Vouchers

JTL-Vouchers Clients - How to create a client group
Let’s assume you have several stores, in different locations. Then, from a strategic point of view, it is not always desired that all subsidiaries also receive the same rights and redemption options. But it does not necessarily have to be analog stores, but can also represent various online stores, branches, individual cash registers or even warehouses. Subordinate clients are then assigned to these client groups, which automatically receive the permissions of their client group. So much for the theory, but how do you create such a group? If you haven’t purchased a JTL Vouchers license yet, we’ll link you to the JTL Vouchers setup blog. But now we log in to the web portal and go to the “Client Group” tab in the list on the left. First of all, we enter a name for them. Ex. “Retail Store Dusseldorf. This is our main branch and this one should get all the rights, so we also hook all of them. Click on “Save” and you have created the client group.
What is this group for?
This could be done theoretically, but a client group can also contain several clients, so we create another new group and call it “CG 1 (Onlineshop and Düsseldorf)”. So we know that this group includes the online store and our retail store in Düsseldorf. Both would then of course receive the same rights. We now want to assign clients to this group, so we go to Clients in the list on the left and create them with the button in the upper right corner as well. We enter the name and assign it to the group we just created. We do the same for the Düsseldorf store.
JTL Vouchers Clients vs. Client Group
Now we have a group to which two clients have been assigned, which thus receive the rights of the client group. For better understanding we quote again from the JTL software docu: “Client groups allow you to assign specific rights and then assign the desired clients to the client groups. For example, in the client group, you specify the name of your company. For example, you can name clients according to the products you use (e.g. JTL store) or according to “cash registers”.
