In this article, we devote ourselves to a practical case. This is because, as a rule, not a single user uses the corporate Wawi, but several users are created for the employees. But now it is the case that when a new user is created, the factory settings are applied. This will cost you a lot of time in 1.5, for example, to make a new program. Adjust printer settings or column layout settings. But maybe each user should stand individually for himself and have individual settings. With JTL-Wawi 1.5 only one option works with JTL-Wawi 1.6 both. How this works, how you create a new user and how you transfer the mentioned setting options, you will learn in this episode.
Customize printer settings and tables
Let’s get started and go to the Wawi. We first change the printer settings. These are located in the Start menu under “Printers”. Here you can choose different printers for different template sets. Here we have changed some to OneNote. Secondly, we deviate in the layout from the factory settings and change the column order in the customer area, so that the name of the customer is always in front, because this is clearer for us. But in the same way, we could also go to the sales area and say that we want the order number in front instead of the date. Now we want to transfer these customizations to a new user. To do this, we go to the admin area on “Users/rights”. And click on “Create”. Mandatory fields for this are the name, the assignment to a company, the user name and the password. Now let’s fill that in once for the new user.

When the user has been created, mark him in this list and press the button “Apply settings from user”. Now you can choose whether you want to apply the table layouts, the print settings or both. At the top, select the user from whom the settings are to be applied. Now, to try out whether the whole thing was really transferred, change the user. You may be prompted to change the password the very first time, follow up at that point. And we check the whole thing times, both the printer settings and the table layout were taken over.
