The Internet knows no borders. In addition to multilingualism, JTL-Wawi can also handle the respective currencies of the customers in the web store or on the forms. To do this, it is necessary to enter the corresponding currencies that are accepted by the webshop operator also in JTL-Wawi with the corresponding conversion rates a>With the new Wawi, the creation and updating of currencies has been massively simplified. Everything can be done from one window. Unfortunately, I don’t yet know a way to automate the updating of exchange rates. A test with AutoIT’s macro recorder did not produce a usable result.

You can access the currency settings via Settings -> General settings -> Currency.

In the screenshot you can see that here, in contrast to the standard configuration, CHF (Swiss Franc) is stored as the default currency. Of course, this also has an effect on the tax zone, which must of course be changed in such cases (more on this later!).

You can create new currencies by clicking on “New”.

Name: The name stored here will be used in all print forms.

HTML: This value is used for the connected webshop. The value should start with an & sign, followed by the three character currency code, e.g. eur, and finally a semicolon.

ISO code: Here you must select the correct ISO code for the currency. This value is important because it is needed for internal purposes.

Conversion factor: You do not have to make any entries here. When the exchange rates are updated for the first time, the correct value is automatically entered by the European Central Bank.

Separator cent: As a rule, enter a comma here. In Anglo-American countries, for example, the dot is used here.

Separator thousand: In German-speaking countries, a period is entered here.

Before amount: Here you define if the currency sign should be displayed before the amount.

Once you have created the new currency, it is enough to click once on “Update rates”. Thereafter, the corresponding conversion factor is attracted by the ECB.
