JTL OTTO connect via JTL-eazyAuction

Connecting OTTO Market as a marketplace

“JTL OTTO connect via JTL-eazyAuction” is the task of this video. We show you what the native OTTO Market interface for JTL-Wawi is all about, what it offers you and why you should sell on OTTO.

Connect JTL OTTO - eazyAuction makes it possible

We already told you about the new native Kaufland interface in the last episode. In this we announce the new OTTO interface from JTL software itself for JTL-Wawi. Everything you need to know about it in this video. So it’s best to watch until the end. If the shoe pinches you in another place, you should have a look at the JTL software user community group on Facebook. Here you can directly ask your question to over 4000 JTL experts, resellers, service partners and the like. Otherwise eBakery as a JTL agency is happy to support you with your more complex needs.
But now back to the starting point – How can OTTO suddenly be natively connected?

What is the JTL SCX interface?

This is made possible by the JTL SCX interface, which you already know from the last episode. SCX stands for “Sales Channel Extension”. The goal is to keep this interface generic in the future, i.e. to develop it in such a way that it ultimately does not matter whether marketplace X or marketplace Y is connected, that the processes are virtually always the same.
To understand this in more detail, you have to look at how the whole thing works. JTL-SCX basically consists of two interfaces. On the one hand the Seller API and on the other hand the Channel API. JTL-Wawi in turn communicates with the Seller API. The counterpart is the Channel API. This communicates with the marketplace itself and bundles the entire transformation and business logic required to, for example. to list an offer on a marketplace. The system that connects both APIs is a kind of proxy, i.e. communication interface between both APIs.

JTL OTTO connect - In which phase is the OTTO interface?

So far so good. But what phase is the OTTO interface in and how do I always stay up to date?
As we can see here, this interface is in the closed beta phase, which means it is still part of the JTL pilot program and can be viewed accordingly under “Contribute” and “Pilot Program” in the Customer Center. The prerequisite is again a connection between WAWI and customer center and the use of a 1.6.35 Wawi or newer. If you don’t know how to combine the two, take another look at the previous video, which we’ve linked to you in the top right corner. Furthermore, we see that OTTO Market is not the only interface waiting in the wings. So there is still a lot planned for the future.

Why should you sell on OTTO?

But why should you sell on OTTO at all?
On the one hand, the 10 million customers and 10 orders per second, are already a considerable house number.
According to the company’s own figures, it generated sales of 4.5 billion euros in fiscal year 20/21. Which would mean that OTTO would be the top-selling marketplace in Germany after Amazon. What definitely applies to OTTO is the adherence to quality standards, which is why not every retailer is approved. Of course, this can be both a curse and a blessing. If you want to know how to register with OTTO, check out our specific video for that.
