JTL-Wawi 1.6 Own fields

Individualize invoices

With JTL-Wawi 1.6 you have the possibility to create your own fields, add individual content to your orders and then have them printed on the invoice. How to create and integrate these fields, you can see in this JTL-Wawi tutorial.

The JTL-Wawi supreme discipline

One of the supreme disciplines is customization in JTL-Wawi. In other words, changes that are not intended to have a global impact, but are only applied to an individual product, category or order. This is exactly what is possible in JTL-Wawi 1.6 and that’s why we bring it closer to you in this article.
Our goal is to assign an individual note to an order so that it appears on the invoice but is not carried over to other orders. If you missed the previous JTL-Wawi 1.6 videos, here is the playlist linked again.

JTL-Wawi 1.6 Custom fields - How to create them

Let’s take a direct look at how we do this in Wawi. Step one is to create your own field. To do this, go to Admin and “Custom fields”. It is important that the “Offer / Order / Subscriptions” section is selected and that you first create a group. You can name them as you like. A new field is then created in this group. Remember the name you give to the field, as we will have to fill it in to the letter. The file type is a “free text” field. Now you only have to save and you would have completed point 1. Step 2 involves integrating the custom field into a specific job. So for this, we go to the “Sales” section and have already generated two test orders in our online store beforehand. By the way, you can learn how to connect JTL-Shop 5 with the ERP system in this article. We note order number 2 and 3 at this point. We will adjust order 2, but not order 3. So we double-click on it and see the “Custom Fields” tab here.

JTL-Wawi 1.6 Custom fields - template customization

And here we see the just created field in group 1. With the help of the HTML editor you can now enter your annotations. This doesn’t have to be just classic text, it can be a date, a picture, whatever makes sense to you. At the end, click on “Save” and step 2 is completed – you have thus stored your own field in this one order only. Step 3 is now only the adjustment of the template. For this we go to Admin and Print / Export and Email templates. In the “Voucher Sales” section you will find the sub-item “Order”, go up there, select your template, click on Edit and “Select design object”. We now select or double-click only our job 2. Now you just have to insert your HTML text, accordingly we go to “Insert” at the top and select “HTML Text”. Now draw a square with the cursor wherever you want to place the annotation.

Verification of the individual change

We select “Formula” and choose “JTL_GetSalesOrderCustomField”. Make sure to select the “ORDER Custom Field” and nothing else. Now put in quotes the name you gave to the “Own field”. So in our case “Note”. Then there is a comma and behind it “Report.internalid” and confirm. Now our HTML field has been added to the preview. We can now determine where the text field or whatever you have stored should go. Finally, just save and check. To do this, we first go back to the order we have worked on, so with the order number 2 on output > order > preview and you will see that your individual change will be present in the form of a note. To verify that this is really just on the invoice, we look into the other order and see our default template with no annotation.
