JERA GmbH and JTL-Wawi
The focus of JERA GmbH is the individual programming of software. Especially in the development of interfaces to financial accounting for online trading. This is also how JTL 2 DATEV came into being. An interface that allows to create a direct connection of all data from JTL-Wawi with the tax advisor. All payments are reconciled and correctly entered in the booking. JTL-Wawi is the free enterprise resource planning from JTL. With it, you can centrally control and manage all sales channels and connect several marketplaces at once.
What is Intrastat?
Intrastat stands for Intra-Community Trade Statistics and is based on EC Regulation No. 638/2004. This deals with Community statistics on the trading of goods between Member States of the EU. Thus, the statistics serve to record the trade in goods between the 28 Member States. In addition, the Regulation lays down Union-wide minimum standards for the collection of trade statistics. Intrastat is, in summary, a statistical goods declaration when certain sales limits are exceeded. Both purchasing and sales are required to report their sales. Here it is important to know that you do not report the sales until you are requested to do so by the relevant state statistical office. After all, once you report your sales, you must continue to do so on an ongoing basis.
ADD ON EU messages
Once these reports become mandatory for you, the state statistical offices are very interested in seeing that the reports are made in a timely manner. For this, there is a data basis from JTL, Because the whole process is very elaborately designed. The statistical goods declarations include several factors, e.g. sales that take place within the EU. These sales are then compiled and transmitted by commodity statistical number, by sales tax, ID number, weight and units. For this purpose, there is a special portal where you can upload this data. The Add On EU Reporting Intrastat deals with compiling and providing this data from JTL-Wawi. And in such a way that the data can be uploaded automatically.
A unified data source
For example, if you sell pan-European through Amazon or reach delivery thresholds, the ADD ON EU notifications will kick in. If you have your TAX service, for example KPMG or DutyPay, the ADD ON EU messages can access JTL-Wawi. Here we will then look at what exactly was delivered. A uniform database is important for the software. The data that is passed on at the end is generated from exactly the same data center from which the data also goes to the tax advisor. So there is a data source, from it data goes to the tax advisor and to the Tax Service. This means that data maintenance takes place centrally in one place, in JTL-Wawi. The more neatly you maintain the data here, the easier it is to export the data.
Make preparations
So the important thing for you is to maintain your data in JTL-Wawi. But also make the right preparations, for example, if you know you’re going to cross a delivery threshold. The JTL 2 DATEV interface always monitors whether limits have been reached thanks to a tool. In other words, what sales you have in which country in relation to the delivery threshold. Thanks to a smart traffic light system, you always know when action is needed. Together with your tax advisor you can then consult which step should be the next one. Will you apply for the tax number in the respective country? Will there be language barriers in the countries and do I also need a tax service? Your tax advisor will explain these questions to you in detail.
Advantages of ADD On EU messages
If you use JTL 2 DATEV and sell in several countries, you have the advantage to get only one report for all countries. From JTL 2 DATEV a message is generated, this goes to DATEV. A second message can then be uploaded directly to DutyPay as a file, for example. Thereby you have some advantages, because all necessary data are in one upload. There is no additional upload of article data. In addition, there is a plausibility check before the upload. All article relevant data is packed into one file, nothing has to be uploaded separately. You don’t need to maintain item prices in any external system, because everything can be fetched from JTL-Wawi. The package of JERA includes ADD On EU messages and Intastrat, you get both together. This can extremely support you as an online retailer. Because you report Intrastat when the state statistical office asks you to do so. Mostly it would like however directly also the messages of the previous year. Without a proper system by your side, this can become a big challenge that will also cost you a lot of time in the end.
