Mrs. Huber from Deko-cut(https://www.deko-cut.de) asked me to write this little tutorial for her. Especially for JTL-Wawi users who work a lot with instant orders, it happens that customers are entered twice. Here are the instructions on how these customers can then later be combined back into one customer.

Bring customers together

Sample customer Donald Duck was entered twice in the Wawi via an immediate order (outlined in red here). He has a new address and email address. We know that Donald Duck exists only once and so we can merge these two data sets into one.

We select both records by pressing the CTRL key and clicking with the left mouse button on both records. After that, the two lines should be highlighted in blue. After that we can click the Merge button in the Task Bar below the list box.

The Merge Customer Data Wizard appears. In the first step we select the “Master customer”, here marked in red. The unmarked customer record will be deleted later and all orders, invoices, credit notes and shipping addresses will be assigned to the marked customer.

In the customer data reconciliation window, you will see the deviating data highlighted in blue and the new data highlighted in pink. Here you can select which data will be transferred from the new data set to the existing data set or overwritten. By clicking the OK button, the existing record will be updated

In the end, we still have a customer record for Donald Duck with the new customer number 31.
