Shopware 6 Cookie Notice

What to look out for?

Regarding the Shopware 6 cookie notice , it should be noted that it complies with the EUgH ruling. In other words, it complies with the principle that active user consent is mandatory and must be respected. Whether this is guaranteed in Shopware 6 by default or you have to change something manually, that learns in our screencast tutorial. EUgH ruling on the use of cookies

Every homepage, online store or blog operator will probably already be familiar with the ECJ ruling on the subject of cookies, which reads – active user consent is mandatory. That is, at least when visiting the site for the first time, the site visitor must be asked whether he or she agrees to the processing of cookies. His voluntary and explicit consent is mandatory, and his consent must be obtained on the basis of facts clearly described in terms of content. But how can you fulfill this obligation in Shopware?

This is what you have to keep in mind for the Shopware 6 cookie notice

Stores with version 5.6.3 and higher use a function addition in the Shopware core as a standard function. Systems with Shopware 5.6.2 or older can use a plugin, but this requires at least a version level of 5.2.11 and subsequently requires administrative settings in the backend. But if you have already completed a core update to Shopware 6, your store should be legally compliant with this ruling without any further manual configuration. At this point we cannot and must not give any guarantee for it, because we are not allowed to give legal information and therefore we do not give it. We are merely informing with it. Nevertheless, let’s take a look at how this looks in the Shopware 6 frontend.

These options are available to us in the cookie notice

When we open our store in the browser, the Shopware 6 cookie notice appears by default at the bottom, which we can reject or confirm by going into the cookie settings with configure and making our choice individually. That means we can set the checkmarks in the three fields or in none or only one or two and finally save the whole thing. If you want to add a button with the possibility to agree to all cookies, we will now show you how to do that.

How to add the "Accept all cookies" button to the Shopware 6 cookie notice

To do this, you need to go to the backend of your Shopware store and go to Basic Information under Settings. Then scrollall the way down and check the“Show “Accept all cookies” button“, making it easier for your site visitors to agree to all cookie terms with one click. This is how it will finally look in the frontend.
