One can confidently say: sBoth Shopware 5 and Shopware 6 are currently suitable as online store solutions for successful eCommerce projects. According to the Shopware 5 page, updates and support are still guaranteed until 2024. On the one hand, the migration process is quite time-consuming, on the other hand, one benefits from a more modern technology, which also enables the retailer himself to create worlds of experience without programming knowledge. The Rule Builder is also well suited for individual if-then processes and is easy to handle. This means that no blanket answer or blanket recommendation can be given, but must be considered on an individual basis. There is probably no question of urgency, but anyone working on a successful long-term eCommerce project based on Shopware will not be able to avoid using Shopware 6 in the long term.
