Connect Shopware to ERP system and Wawi Xentral

We will cover the Shopware Xentral interface in a little more detail in this blog article to show you how to connect Shopware to your Xentral ERP. Should you prefer to follow the whole thing audiovisually, here is the video. If not just scroll down.

The Shopware Xentral interface

After installing the Xentral ERP system on our server and logging in in the last episode, today we connect the first store system to Xentral – Shopware 5. For this, the first step is to install the Xentral plugin in our Shopware backend. To do this, we go to our Plugin Manager and enter Xentral. In our case it is already installed, if this is not the case for you, install and activate this plugin. If this is enabled, you can create a new user for Xentral under Settings and User Management by entering a fictitious username and password, enabling API access and entering your master data.

Installs the Shopware Importer

Make a note of all the data, as you will need it again in Xentral. There you go to the menu for online stores and marketplaces under Administration. Creates a new online store. In our case, we want to add the Shopware Importer.

This is where the data you just entered in the new Shopware user comes into play. Therefore enter the API user, the API key and the API URL. The first two result from the user and the generated API key, the URL is your store URL with an“/api” at the end. Our root category is called German. Everything else can be customized.

This includes, for example the import mode. Depending on whether you created a cronjob in the previous step of the last video, an automatic import can take place. Once you have filled in all the fields, save your data. You can be sure that your connection was successful if all categories are displayed as active.

How to check that the Shopware Xentral interface is active

We have integrated test orders in our test store, which we now want to import into Xentral. To do this, click on Pick up old orders. In our case, we set the import mode to manual, then go to the import center and click Import All. In our orders, we now see that the test orders have been transferred from Shopware to Xentral.
