Xentral installation explained step by step

How to install the ERP system Xentral on your server, we explain in our Xentral Screencast. If you prefer to follow the step-by-step instructions by reading, scroll down.

If Xentral doesn’t mean anything to you yet or you’ve only heard about this ERP system and enterprise resource planning in passing, then feel free to check out our Xentral Playlist on YouTube. Otherwise, let’s now turn to the main topic of this article, the Xentral installation.

Download the installer before installing Xentral

You can get the installer on the Xentral website. Here you can enter your contact details and you will receive all the necessary data by e-mail.

To start the Xentral installation, download the installer.php filevia FTP client such as. Filezilla on your server. Once the upload process is complete, go to your browser, type the server URL and at the end backslash Installer.php.

The installation process should then be started. This can take a few minutes until you finally get a feedback whether the server meets the requirement criteria. In our case, everything is in the green, so we click continue. In the second step we enter the necessary database information such as the database name, the user name and the password. Automatically, a path for files is already given, you can use it or customize it, it’s up to you. Finally, you can choose to install test data or not, and you’re done.

If you want to use the process starter, it is necessary to enter the following code in the crontab.

Otherwise, this completes the installation process. We then enter our server URL in the browser and can log in for the first time. This initial login process may also take some time. However, this is only the case the very first time.
Now you are in the backend of your Xentral ERP. You can use this Community Edition for free, so you can get familiar with this ERP solution without having to spend a huge budget.
