But let’s not beat around the bush, let’s go straight to the Shopware 6 backend. We’ll use a category page as an example for this video. To create a template, i.e. a layout for our category, we need to go to Shopping Experiences or also called Experience Worlds in the content section. Let’s make it easy for ourselves and duplicate the default category layout. Thus, the lock icon is also gone and we can edit it. First of all, we change the name so that we can recognize it afterwards. Then we take the placeholder next to the image directly, click on the Replace icon and already see our two options. YouTube or Vimeo. Now that we have selected the YouTube video, we need to copy our YouTube link and then click on the gear. The URL extension, i.e. what comes after the “Dot Com Slash”, must now be inserted here. We also have the option to specify whether the video should be set to autoplay and played in a loop, as well as the option to set a start and end point. In addition, you can set the video to load only after the consent of the site visitor. Accordingly, a thumbnail should be deposited. We’ll do this once for our final video. Then click on “Done”. Since we are only interested in this change for the video, we save.

Include created layout

In our case, the first catalog is the one linked to our header in the navigation. That’s why we use them and link the Ladies subcategory to our layout. To do this, click on Change Layout and good thing we renamed ours, now we can quickly find it again. Checkmark this and save. We save the complete process and, as a precaution, go into the settings and clear our cache.
