One Instagram SEO tip that is very often neglected is the use of alt text in Instagram posts. But first, a little definition about it.
Definition of alt text - what is it?
An ALT tag or ALT attribute, where “ALT” stands for “alternative”, represents an alternative image description. So, it is a text in HTML that describes an image or graphic in simple words. On the one hand, this creates accessibility, so you also give visually impaired Instagram users the chance to consume the content, but also uses another possibility to place keywords for Instagram but also Google.

If you have created a new post, selected your image and are now in the area where you can also enter your caption, go into the Advanced Settings. Here you can see the function Enter alternative text. Click on it and you can enter your text. This should describe what is to be seen and contain at least your focus keyword, which in our case would be Shopware 6. But this can be applied not only to new posts. This is also possible on Instagram for images that have already been posted. To do this, select the desired post from your feed, click on the context menu and on Edit and now enter your alternative text here.
