Shopware 6 Bulk Edit

How to adjust several positions at the same time

You can find out how to implement multiple changes in Shopware 6 using the bulk edit function in our tutorial. Whether products, variant products, orders or customer profiles, this function allows changes to be applied to multiple items in seconds

Shopware 6 Bulk Edit explained

In addition to automations, global customizations are the most efficient way to save time as an online retailer. This means, if possible, not processing one order at a time, but several at the same time. Or you don’t adapt one product variant after the other, but all at the same time. The Bulk Edit function of Shopware 6 makes this possible. In this episode, we’ll tell you which areas you can use it for and, above all, how.

The multiple changes can be applied to these 4 variants

In Shopware 6 there are 4 main areas in which we can use our bulk edit function.
The conventional products, variants of variant products, orders and customers. Let’s go through this step by step, starting with the products. By the way, you can see whether a product is a variant product or not in the product overview by this symbol here. Let’s select 3 normal products and set the status to active for all of them. As we can see, this is not yet the case for everyone. Once we have checked the boxes, we will see the “Bulk Edit” function. If we click on it, the products that are included in the multiple change are displayed again for safety reasons. If everything is correct, start the bulk edit.

Shopware 6 Bulk Edit - The products

You can now see here which options can all be adjusted using multiple changes. This includes the status, the manufacturer, the price and all other adjustments that you can also make to individual products. We want to test whether all statuses can now be switched to active. At the end, we receive confirmation that the changes have been made successfully. And lo and behold, that is indeed the case. But what about variant products? Here we do not select several variant products, but go into the product, click on Variants and select several variants of this product and click on Bulk Edit as usual. The interesting thing here is that we not only have the same options as before, but we can also deactivate inheritance.

Change the status of several orders at the same time

Our number 3 area is orders. For example, would you like to change the status of several orders directly, then select them in the overview. It is always important, regardless of whether you are in the products, variants, orders or anywhere else, that you check the activation box. You can then specify the status to which all selected orders should be set and click on Apply changes. If workflows have been created in the background via the Flow Builder for orders and are active, you can select here whether they should be triggered in each case. If you do not want this, click the toggle switch to inactive. In principle, this works in exactly the same way for our customer administration. This saves you time and allows you to make adjustments that affect several items in just a few seconds instead of having to click through each individual item one by one.
