How many backlinks do I have and how qualitative are they?

In this Backlink SEO Tutorial we will show you how to find out how many backlinks your website has and how qualitative they are. We explain the difference between nofollow and dofollow links and demonstrate our free SEO tools.

Backlink SEO Tutorial - Our tools at a glance

We continue with our SEO tools, specifically the backlink tools. If you missed the previous videos, here is our playlist linked to them again. To prevent this from happening in the future, subscribe to the eBakery YouTube channel. This way you will always be up to date.

What are backlinks?

You can access our SEO tools by typing ebakery.de into your browser and going to “SEO Tools” in the navigation under “Recipe for Success”. Besides the now well-known Domain and Page Authority Checker tools, we also have backlink specific tools in our assortment. But what actually are backlinks?
In principle, these are external links of other websites. That means, if heise.de would link your site in a post on their own site, that would be a backlink for you. But why are they so relevant?
Because that’s basically one of your currencies for search engines. Backlinks radiate relevance. If you are linked by an established online magazine, search engines like Google and Bing will recognize that as a recommendation.
The higher the reputation of the link provider, the more valuable the backlink. This means that not all backlinks are the same.

Backlink SEO Tutorial - How can you find out the value of a website?

But how can you find out how valuable a website is?
One indicator would be the Domain Authority Checker. Ultimately, this means that the following also applies to Google: quality before quantity.
Because a lot has happened here since 1999. Thus, at that time simply the number of backlinks is crucial.
In the meantime, however, quality is also taken into account.
But what do our tools have to do with it?
Exactly these capture both quality and quantity of your backlinks.

Backlink SEO Tutorial - What are your best backlinks?

The High Quality Backlink Tool lists the most valuable backlinks for a specific domain. So you can see from which page it originates, what the anchor text for the link is, whether the website itself or a subpage was linked, when the original article was crawled and above all, as just mentioned, the DA and PA score. So Domain Authority and Page Authority. The PA score is primarily decisive for this, as can be seen from the ranking.

What does "nofollow" mean?

Now, however, we have another red clue here. What does “nofollow” mean again?
Simply put, this is a hint for the search engine bot. The way we do it, for example. already know from the robots.txt. In this case, the hint will be included directly in the HTML text and may look like this.
This means that the attribute “rel=nofollow” gives the Google Bot the hint that this is not a recommendation link. So you can casually say that nofollow links are less valuable for the linked party. But in how far Nofollow links now SEO technically work, is controversial. Some experts say too many NoFollow links are harmful, others say it has no effect. A NoFollow attribute is then appropriate for the page operator, if the links are purchased or if they link to “non-trustworthy content”.

Backlink SEO Tutorial - More free SEO tools under the microscope

So if your backlinks are DoFollow or NoFollow links, you can find out with the help of our tool.
You can find more rankings, but from a different point of view, in our other tools.
So this one shows not the most qualitative backlinks, but the newest ones. You can see this again in the last column of the table.
The third tool then ranks your backlinks in ascending order of quality. This means that rank 1 would be the worst backlink, which is proven by a PA and DA score of 1. That is, it is basically the exact opposite of the first tool. Our Top Referrer Tool gives you an overview of all backlink donors of a certain domain. This does not rank individual links, but the link givers themselves. So we are not dealing with a qualitative but a quantitative classification. So who gave you the most backlinks, so to speak. Again, you can see how much of these are DoFollow links. Ergo, the difference would be the number of NoFollow links.

Summary

In summary, this means that you can use our tools to see whether a link provider is of high quality. This is done by the Domain and Page Authority Checker. On the other hand, you can also take a closer look at your own site and see how many backlinks are registered, who has linked you most often, whether they are high-quality DoFollow links or rather only NoFollow links and finally, whether the link providers are high-caliber with a high DA and PA score or rather poor backlinks. All this combined on a single page for free. So try it out for yourselves too. If your concern exceeds these tools, then make an appointment with our experts on our Google SEO Agency page. Otherwise you can also do it directly here via contact form.
