Twitter Conversion Ads

The new ads in the comments

Twitter Conversion Ads are a new form of ads on Twitter. The ads are to be played out between the comments. The creators are to share in the revenues. Why these new ads are controversial, however, you can find out here.

What's so special about Twitter Conversion Ads?

Twitter is currently testing a new monetization option where ads are placed between the comments of a tweet. This new advertising option is currently being tested with selected users. The new ads should be visible below the first, the third or the eighth comment on a tweet. In a tweet from Bruce Falck, there is a preview of it. The exciting point about this is that part of the ad revenue from the new ad feature is supposed to go to the creators. To do this, they must agree to the new Ads under your Tweets.

Currently still in the test phase

The test phase of the new feature is expected to continue for several months. In fact, Twitter wants to test the new ads in different layouts, insertion options and other points. After that, the feature is supposed to be made available to all users, but most of them react differently to the news than expected. In the comments section of the tweet informing about the planned feature, many users criticize the function. Many users write that ads in the comments section would destroy the flow of conversations among tweets. Other users write that this would destroy the user experience. One user even writes that the new feature would ruin Twitter. Overall, the Twitter community is not reacting very positively to the new ads.

This is what Twitter itself says about Twitter Conversion Ads

Falck writes about it: As we experiment with this format over the coming months, we’ll focus on understanding how it works and how it impacts people and Conversations. So if the new feature really has potential to destroy Conversations on Twitter, it will already be seen in the testing phase. So the decision in favor of the ads is not yet final.
