But now back to the topic. Since we assume that German will be your preferred language, you should enter “shopware.com/en/download” in your URL line in the browser. It doesn’t matter if you want to download Shopware 5 or Shopware 6. Because you make this choice on the page. Both versions can be downloaded for free. We do this for both systems. Then you will find a compressed .zip file. Before you continue with them, make sure that you or your system meets the system requirements. You can find them in the Shopware Docs section. Now you can unpack the .zip file in the desired directory of your server.

We use the local method for our video. Accordingly, we start MAMP once, go to the website and should then find the installation window. Accordingly, you need to upload your files to the server and call the URL of your store in the browser. Then it should look the same for you. If this is not the case, but it looks like in our video, then you have to enter the URL “/index.php” and you can then start the installation process. In the first step, the language can be selected. In our case, since you are also watching a German-language video, we will assume German. The next step is to check your system requirements. The green dot means – everything is fine. If you want to see a detailed view, click on the arrow next to it. In the third step, read through the terms and conditions and agree to them, otherwise you will not get anywhere here. Now you need to find the server name, a user and password and enter the database name. With this, we have made all the arrangements and can now start the installation.
