Using Shopify inventory-wise?

If you are an online retailer, you are offered a variety of different ERP systems these days. In doing so, it is not always easy to make the right decision. VARIO dominates the German market and is a leading ERP system for small and medium-sized enterprises. It supports you in your everyday work, because it can control, optimize and manage all your business processes. Whether purchasing, warehousing, production or sales – VARIO is modular and can handle all operational processes. In addition, VARIO has developed several interfaces to marketplaces or store systems. An interface allows synchronization of all your data and articles with the respective marketplace or store system.

VARIO has an interface to Shopify

Shopify is a special online store system that allows businesses to easily create their own online store. It has numerous plugins to connect to major payment providers and the setup is straightforward. Once you’re comfortable with online commerce and want to scale – Shopify scales with you. VARIO has developed a suitable interface to Shopify, so you can connect both programs. Have you been using Shopify for a while and are already familiar with the store system? At the same time, don’t you want to invest time in transferring all data to VARIO’s ERP system?

Using Shopify as an inventory-managing system?

Even if the ERP system is easy to use, it’s important to use any time gained for your sales, especially in eCommerce. But is it even possible to use Shopify as an inventory-managing system? So that you use VARIO for shipping, for example, but set up your items and inventory in Shopify? In principle, this process is feasible. However, it is worth taking a closer look. It is implemented, however, this way you can only use the features that Shopify offers. So if you decide to use Shopify as an inventory-managing system, you’ll be missing out on the wide range of features that lie behind a professional inventory management system.

Technically it is possible, but not always useful

Especially for startups or if you are at the very beginning of your eCommerce career, it comes into question to choose this way. Maybe you already have many items listed on Shopify, want to move on quickly, and don’t want to do a data transfer or a data sync. If all this applies to you, it is technically possible. However, VARIO advises integrating inventory management into your ERP system over time. Shopify offers you a lot of freedom as a system. You have full control over the appearance and can individualize the store system according to your needs with various plugins. Also, as mentioned earlier, it scales with you once you have the budget to do so.

Up to 5000 receipts are free of charge with VARIO

VARIO’s ERP system also supports you if you do not want to implement your data. There is no absolutely suitable strategy for generating long-term success in online retailing. If you want to start selling your assortment of items as soon as possible to get acquainted with the world of eCommerce, the whole thing works with Shopify as an inventory management system. VARIO continues to run in the background, offering help where it can. An additional advantage of VARIO: There is a free version with which you can use up to 5000 receipts completely free of charge.
