We’ll show you how you can connect Shopify with TikTok here. This allows you to integrate your products into advertisements on TikTok and opens up a completely new market. This Shopify X TikTok tutorial will show you how to achieve this and what you need to bear in mind.
TikTok is increasingly establishing itself as a marketing platform for eCommerce companies, i.e. online retailers. This is made possible by the cooperation between TikTok and Shopify. That’s why we want to show you in this video how you can connect your Shopify store to TikTok in order to advertise your product catalog there and thus attract more potential customers.
If you don’t have a Shopify store yet, take a look at our step-by-step guide on how to create one. If you have both a Shopify store and a TikTok account, first make sure of one thing. Your TikTok account must be a business account. To check this, go to your profile in TikTok, click on the three dashes at the top right and then on Settings and Privacy. Then go to your account and check what’s there. If it says “Switch to personal account”, then you can assume that your account is a business account. If it says “Switch to business account”, click on it and go through the individual steps.
Once you have checked this, go to your Shopify admin area. Here you enter “TikTok” in your search bar. Click on the app and check whether it is also provided by TikTok Inc. has been developed, then it is the right app. Now click on “Install”. Confirm the whole process by clicking on “Install” again. We have already done the whole thing once, which is why it says “Setup is being carried out”. So we are continuing to set it up here. In your case, it may look like this. Then click on “Setup Now” or “Set up”. First we need to link “TikTok For Business” by logging into our account. TikTok For Business is a kind of management platform in which we can manage multiple business accounts. Log in here accordingly. If you don’t have one yet, you can either create it directly here by clicking on “Create new” or simply enter “tiktok.com/business” in your URL bar.
If this is successfully connected, your TikTok Business Center account must then be connected. We have already connected it once, so we click on “Connect”. The same applies to the TikTok Ads Manager. If this does not yet exist, create it here directly, otherwise register for it and connect. Now it’s time to release the data, the regulations for which may vary from country to country. You can see which customer data is shared here. So choose one of the three options and then select the pixel, which will then be automatically integrated into Shopify. So you don’t have to enter it manually. We have already entered our company data in advance. It may still be necessary for you to enter these in this step. At the end, click on “Finish setup”.
It can now take up to 24 hours for your ad account to be checked. You can then create the campaigns in the TikTok Marketing tab. There will be a separate video about this, which we will link here. As you can see, the products are currently being synchronized, which can take up to 5 days. You can finally check whether everything has worked by going into a product and checking here whether the status in the store and TikTok has been set to green. You can now display your products with advertisements on TikTok.
