Indeed, it is impossible to say with certainty which ranking factors are decisive for Google Shopping, and even John Müller stated that he does not know which factors influence the ranking in Google Shopping. It is therefore quite possible that prices or, for example, availability have an impact on the ranking.

With Google Shopping, online retailers can place their products within Google’s search results using the Google Product Feed. For this purpose, a product is assigned certain attributes, such as condition, availability and price. These attributes should make the search easier for the user. For example, a user can also sort the products by price. So here, a lower price can definitely have an advantage and thus influence the ranking.

Are prices Google ranking factors or not?

Our conclusion is that Google web search price is officially not a ranking factor. However, the prices are important for the ranking if the goods are to be advertised with the product search. The issue becomes more complicated when products are displayed in different places in the search results, such as in the web search results and in Google’s product search. This mix then does give the price a sort of ranking factor, as it can influence searches.
