If there is already an entry for your company, you have the possibility to confirm it. Google recommends the authentication process for already existing entries, which allows you to add additional information or images. Authentication is performed by a pin, which is sent by phone or letter. By the way, the completeness of your entry is also an advantage for search engine optimization, because especially in larger cities, the service is not necessarily a guarantee to be found as well, because there are often many service providers of the same industry.

Influence Google Places ranking

The internal ranking of Google Places further complicates visibility. However, this ranking can be influenced by the completeness of an entry. Your listing should be tagged with relevant keywords that a user would search for. For example, a user searching for an Italian restaurant would not search for pizza or lasagna, but for “pizzeria” or for “Italian restaurant”. Keywords should therefore be chosen well. In addition, the ranking is influenced by the company’s ratings. Ratings from other rating portals also play a role.

Notoriety brings you visibility

Another point that influences the ranking on Google Places is the awareness of the company. A company that is frequently searched for and linked to is displayed higher in the ranking than a company for which there is hardly any information. So you see that an entry on Google Places is advantageous, because this way you have additionally good chances to influence the ranking of Google and thus increase the visibility of your company.
