Customize Shopify Theme in Mobile App
We show you how it works
How you can customize the Shopify theme in the mobile app, we will show you in this video. With the Shopify Mobile app, you don’t necessarily need a desktop PC or Mac to create and set up your online store. We’ll show you how.
We explain how to customize Shopify theme in mobile app

How to get to the theme editing area
Here, only the store area is interesting for our project, so let’s go there. You can see everything else here besides the products and the orders. For us, however, the lower section is interesting. We now click on “Onlineshop” and can see our blog area, new pages bspw. create our legal text pages or go directly to the theme administration. Here we are in the right place. First of all, you can see which theme is currently active. For us it is the “Venture” theme. If that doesn’t meet your expectations, scroll down and have a look at the overview of free themes. Within this theme you can choose between different designs. This often concerns the color design, as in our case.
Choose Shopify Theme
We’ll do this once for demonstration and add this to the theme library. Then you will see in this library which ones you have already downloaded and you can select them directly. You do this by clicking on “Actions” and “Publish”. This will make this theme active and use it for your Shopify store. You can rename it, change the language, or duplicate it so you don’t lose a particular state if you don’t like the changes, but we’d rather customize this one now.
Here you will be given a live preview of your current store. But the difference with the preview is that you can make changes. If you click on Edit at the very bottom left, your store layout will be displayed chronologically as editing boxes.
Customize Shopify Theme in Mobile App - Edit Individual Elements
The very first thing we have integrated here is a slideshow by default, to make it recognized as such, we click on one of the elements on it and add an image. Conveniently, you can use images from your gallery, but also images from Shopify’s stock library. That’s what we’re doing now. If you want to keep the selected image, click Select. Now you can fine-tune this, such as the alignment, the displayed text, as well as the button label. If we are satisfied with this, we click on back. We can now do the same once in fast forward for our other element. What is conveniently already included here is a video. This is not included in the default theme. If this is the case for you, I want to show you what to do. You scroll all the way down and there you have the option to add a new section. Now you will see all the existing elements, besides slideshows, you can add blogposts, galleries, category list, individual products, but also videos. Click on it to add your video link, for example. from YouTube. Here you can also customize the displayed text, as well as upload a separate thumbnail.

If the visitor clicks on it, the video will be displayed like this. What is also the same as on the desktop is the slide function, if you want to have this video at the top after all, click on the icon next to the eye and drag it to where you want it. So you can easily and intuitively e.g. You can work on a duplicated theme on the train and don’t have to worry about destroying anything in the store. Of course, we can’t explain every single element in this video. Just try them all out, the operation is relatively self-explanatory and if there should be a question at one or the other point, write us this in the comments.
