Spotify Shopping - The Requirements
But what do you need now to earn money as an artist on Spotify not only through good streaming numbers?
All you need is an artist account with Spotify and a Shopify store with at least the prime rate. No more and no less. Now it’s just a matter of linking the two together.
To do this, go into your artist account in Spotify and go to your profile. Here you will find the “Merch” tab, click on it and you will have the possibility to connect to your Shopify store. Enter the domain of your store and click on Link Shop. Now you have to log in if you are not already and just accept the Terms of Service.

This will give you the opportunity to present your merch, i.e. T-shirts, CDs, hoodies and everything else on your page in Spotify. The site visitor will then not be redirected to your Shopify store, but will be presented with a stripped down version of the item detail page. So one has the possibility to change the product features and after he clicked on “Buy”, he will be redirected directly to the checkout. It opens a new tab, so you don’t feel like you’re buying something directly in Spotify, but you save yourself some steps in the store. That is, it is not just a mere forwarding, but a direct integration. This means that your product name, item description, features, etc. will be transferred 1:1 and also changed when you change them in Shopify.

However, if you don’t want to offer all the products that are available in your Shopify store, then you can click on “Merch” as usual and now you will see all the products in your Shopify store and in the top column only the products that you offer in Spotify. If you want to delete a product, just click Remove below it, then it will not be deleted in your Shopify store, but only in your Spotify Merch view.

The whole thing is free of charge and, by the way, is then also displayed in Shopify as a sales channel.
However, there is not much to adjust here. You can only see which Spotify Artist account the store is connected to and how many products are ultimately available in Spotify and how many were ultimately released. If you want to cut the connection to the account and connect another one, you can also do that from the Shopify admin area.
