Add social media buttons in Shopify - How to do it

How to add social media buttons in Shopify
Now that we know what social media links are for in the store, let’s head over to the Shopify backend and apply it. It is a good idea to place the social media button in the footer. Therefore, let’s go to the Themes settings. By default, the Dawn theme is active, which we will also use to show you our plan. Now click on “Customize” and click on “Theme Settings” at the very bottom. Then you will see that a whole bunch of setting options extend to the right. We only need the sub-item “Social Media”. As you can see, all the popular social media presets are already there, from TikTok to Snapchat to YouTube. We will use Instagram and YouTube as examples to show you how to determine the channel links.
Get YouTube and Instagram link
For YouTube, open your channel. You can do this by searching for him in the search form or, if you are logged in, by clicking on “My channel” in the upper right corner. Exactly this page should then also be linked, so do not click on videos or channel info. Take the link from the URL bar and enter it into Shopify. For Instagram the same game, go to your page, so you see your own feed and copy that URL and enter it into Shopify for Instagram.
How to integrate the buttons into the footer
This means that your personal accounts are already stored, but not yet integrated. As I said, from a user experience perspective, it makes the most sense to integrate the buttons in the footer. So we go up to the footer and checkmark “Show social media icons” and save. Now we can check if the correct page was linked by going to the frontend and clicking on it. See it all works just fine.
