“Google SEO with eBakery” is the topic of this tutorial. We’ll tell you what SEO measures we use ourselves to get #1 in the SERPs. Besides OnPage as well as OffPage SEO, other measures play a role. Find out which ones in the video.
This episode will be a different and special one, because we will give you some insights behind the scenes of eBakerys marketing apparatus and explain to you what you have to consider in terms of Google SEO to achieve top rankings on the biggest search engine in the world. So if this interests you, watch until the end.
As a small basic introduction – What is SEO? With SEO or search engine optimization, you try to achieve the best possible rankings for certain keywords through targeted measures for your website or individual pages. At the beginning, you always have to balance the relationship between competition and search volume. Because if the competition is too big, i.e. if too many strong sites focus on one keyword, then it will be extremely difficult for you as a newcomer to get on page 1 alone. The solution here would be to go for the long-tail equivalent instead. Let’s make an example of this. You want to go for the keyword “Amazon SEO”, but you see that eBakery is already on position 1. If you then read out the sitemap and see that there is already content in the four-digit range, you must realistically realize that the effort would probably be too high to realistically target this keyword or to reach position 1 there. To see more detailed values of how strong your competition is, you can e.g. use the following options. Use Sistrix. For this purpose, there are various tools to determine your performance index and that of your competitors. But what does long tail keyword mean. You are effectively extending the core of your existing keyword. So instead of “Amazon SEO” then just “Amazon SEO Agency“. Unfortunately, eBakery is also on 1. So what would you have to do to rank for relevant keywords?
A crucial point plays the history of the domain. The longer a page already exists, the more valuable it becomes and the more likely it is that new posts will rank directly on page 1. However, the mere existence of a page is not enough, it is also worthwhile to rely on a stable hosting server right from the start. If your site is offline, Google will penalize it severely. Likewise, poor PageSpeed, cryptic URLs and too little traffic will be penalized. That means OnPage SEO is the be-all and end-all for you at the beginning. That means to set on speaking URLs, to design blog posts SEO compliant, i.e. to place keywords, to divide into H1, H2, H3 headings, to divide articles sensibly into not too long sections, to compress images and to name them keyword oriented in the right spelling and and and…. But you should not neglect your content during optimization. Because recurring traffic is only generated if your content is also convincing. If other bloggers or news portals from your industry take notice of you and link to your article, you will get backlinks.
In our case, W&V, a trade magazine for the communications and media industry, included our eBay Cassini article, which in turn brought us backlinks. These are very highly credited by Google. So if someone else links to your site, that’s the best thing that can happen to you. You can learn more about link building in the linked article. Another important point in your SEO strategy should be videos. We at eBakery have been using videos for 3 years now and in retrospect we can say it was the best decision. You will then not only be present on the second largest search engine in the world, but will also be played in the video carousel in the SERPs of Google. If you place them on your page, visitors will stay longer on your page, which will be rewarded by Google. That is, it favors you in more ways than one.
Another crucial point is content recycling. At eBakery, we know best how much effort it takes to create content for the website, YouTube and social media channels, so be smart about it. You can e.g. use the detailed YouTube video as a starting point to cut it into the most important parts. With a little bit of preparation like for example. Subtitles, it can be used to create reels or TikTok videos and you have another channel to play on, with less extra effort. Or you can use the topic of the video as a hook to write a blog article and then include the video there. So the key here is to proceed smartly.
In this context, it is also important to mention that Google optimizes its algorithm at regular intervals and performs minor or major updates, which quite often has a negative impact on the ranking of an already well-ranking SEO-optimized website. The last update was the Google Core Update from May this year, which mainly brought the following effects:
Websites that cover a broad range of topics, such as T-Online or Chip.de, have suffered significant losses within Google search results, in contrast to other websites that specialize in certain topics.
Stock photo or dictionary websites, which are also generalists, are also no longer found among the top search results.
Video content ranks much better after the latest Core update, especially if the link goes directly to YouTube or TikTok. Websites that “hide” videos between long texts, on the other hand, did not gain from the update.
Due to the continuous changes, SEO is above all to be seen as a continuous process, in which one must constantly react to innovations and changes. Without a suitable SEO strategy, it is not possible to rank on the top results in the long term and to stay there. Which SEO measures and instruments should be included in the strategy always depends on the individual orientation of the site operator and the respective objective.
