Insert legal texts in Shopify
Integrate legal texts created with the Händlerbund into Shopify

We now want to build on this to make our Shopify store legally compliant piece by piece. In order to be able to insert the legal texts in Shopify, we will go to our store to demonstrate how to correctly integrate the imprint, the privacy policy, the cancellation policy and the T&C’s and customer information.
Here you can insert your Shopify legal texts
First you have to go to the settings in the backend and there to the legal section. All input masks have an identical structure. Now you have to insert the individual legal texts into the respective input fields. As already mentioned, you can see where you can download them in the previous video. Now we have integrated our sample texts for our sample Shopify store. It is important to note that the formatting of the legal texts is retained and, in particular, all links contained in the legal texts are actively adopted. That means testing, testing, testing. Compare the original document again and check if all links are displayed as such and are accessible. We are also taking another look at a specific reference to this on the part of the Händlerbund. There, it is stated that the link to the ODR platform contained in the imprint must always be accessible and visually perceptible as a link. must be. To ensure that the legal texts can be viewed at any time from any page in your online store, the created legal text pages should be placed in the footer of your website. For this we go to the sales channel “online store” in the navigation. There we select the footer menu. There is no menu item here yet, so we will now add a first one. We’ll leave the name aside for now, we’ll get to that in a moment. Before that, we connect to the legal texts we just entered. That is, we go to legal texts and now see several English terms. For this purpose, the Händlerbund has a good and above all important German translation provided for the respective legal texts. Thus now e.g. be ensured that we immediately assign the right name to the right text.
Which English name stands for what?
Let’s do this with an example. We see in this overview that Legal Notice is our imprint. Accordingly, we link our imprint text for this menu item and also write this as a name. Why is this important? Another hint: Enter the German name given here, so that it can be ensured that the legal texts, i.e. in our case the imprint, are also displayed in the correct language on the order overview page in the check-out.
