How to connect PayPal with your Shopify store

In this Shopify tutorial, we’ll show you how to set up Paypal as a payment method in Shopify. In the course of this, we directly create a new PayPal account and connect it to your online store in Shopify. If you want to know how to do it, check out our video.

We now go to our backend and find the settings at the bottom left. Click on it and you will get the possibility to view the payment options. How your Shopify Payment we will show you in the blog… But now we want to take care of Paypal. From the ground up, it should look like this. Here you see the stored email address of your Shopify store and should now complete the account setup. Now you can either create a new account by entering a new email address, or link your existing account by entering the email address of this account.
Now it depends on whether you want to set this up again or just log in. If the second is the case, you should click on the blue lettering “Login” below. For our video, we assume that there is none yet, so we enter our desired password. In the next step you enter your business data. So your name, as well as the company name, business phone number and your company address. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to confirm that you’re of legal age and agree to Shopify itself taking the technical steps necessary to connect the two. Now it is still decisive which form of enterprise it is with you. Let’s take the “sole proprietorship” as an example for us. Accordingly, the fields also adjust. We select our product category and specify what should be displayed as the name on the credit card statements. Now it’s time for the personal data.

Actually, only the date of birth is relevant here. If your private address is the same as your business address, you only need to check this box. This completes the setup. One last step is missing, because PayPal wants you to validate your email address. Therefore, check your mailbox and follow up. We have created a test product in the further. We’re just going to go through this quickly and then go to the frontend and see if the PayPal button is there. This is the case with us. Very good.
