How to set up Shop Pay for a faster checkout

Today we are focusing entirely on the Shopify payment method Shop Pay. What is it? How do you integrate the payment method? What requirements must be met? And to what extent are Shop Pay and Shop App actually connected?
What is Shopify Shop Pay?
Now to Shop Pay – what is it actually?
Store Pay is first and foremost a payment method. But there are already enough others, like PayPal, Klarna SOFORTÜBERWEISUNG, well I think you all know them. What makes Shop Pay so special?
On the one hand, simplicity. You only have to select your payment method once, e.g. by credit card, store it in the app and in future you can pay with one click in stores that offer Shop Pay. On the other hand, you don’t have to give your full name, address, telephone number or e-mail address. And of course the simplicity also means speed: search for a product, select it and pay with one click. But there is also flexibility. You can also use Shop Pay outside of Shopify, for example. for payments in Instagram or Facebook.
How Shopify Shop Pay works

So once again, the core feature of Shop Pay in a nutshell. To ensure a simplified checkout, users only have to enter their payment information once – the tool then automatically recognizes when the user visits an online store that uses Shop Pay. All billing information provided is encrypted and stored. In principle, the customer only has to click on “Buy now” and the checkout form is automatically completed by the tool.
The installment payment
What also makes Shop Pay so special is the option to pay in installments. A debit or credit card must be on file for this. An identity check is then carried out. The app then sends the customer a confirmation code by SMS, which is used to authorize the installment payment.
Shopify Shop App vs Shopify Payments
This is e.g. also a criterion that distinguishes Shop Pay from Shopify’s other payment method Shopify Payments. However, the latter is merely a standard online payment processor that makes it easier for merchants to accept payments from customers. This means that Shopify Payments is not a payment system in its own right, but rather an option to pay with payment methods such as SOFORT bank transfer, Klarna, Apple or Google Play or even Shop Pay. The tool is therefore not a way of speeding up payment processes.
Using and setting up the Shopify Shop app as an online retailer
But how can I use Shop Pay as an online retailer? In the end, I have already given you the solution.
Shopify Payments is the solution for Shopify. To ensure that Shop Pay is also activated as a payment option for you, you must go to the settings in your backend, namely to the Payments Settings. Go to the Shopify Payments administration and scroll down until you see Shop Pay. Make sure that the check mark is set here. If this is the case, you should also have Express Checkout as shown here. The environmental factor
And last but not least, the focus here is also on the environmental aspect, as we know it from Shopify. Store Pay is committed to offsetting the CO2 emissions caused by the delivery of orders. In practice, this means planting and protecting new trees. Over 120 million trees are currently being protected in the Peruvian rainforest and over 4.6 million mangrove trees are being planted in Senegal.
