Shopify is one of the most popular store systems in Germany. Due to the low entry price from $29/month incl. scalable server and SSL certificate for legally secure transmission of (customer) data, Shopify is increasingly a reason for startups and small merchants to strike directly.

As a Shopify agency, we have already written several posts on this, including Shopify pricing and how to set up Shop ify. Today we’re going to look at the dashboard, Shopify’s control center, where you can see all the important info and metrics at a glance.

You will see directly in this window, among other things, an overview of:

  • Average order value
  • Online store sessions by device type
  • Traffic sources
  • Top products
  • Top landing page

With these values you can analyze your visitors quite well and adjust your store accordingly.

This value is important especially in comparisons with similar periods. Apart from the Christmas business and Black Friday, increases should be seen here if possible. If the value falls, buyer behavior may have changed.

Online store sessions by device type

Shopify is already responsive and mobile-friendly out of the box, so you should see plenty of visitors from that area. But it also depends on your offer, because your target group may not be as mobile-savvy as you think.

Again, in comparison, if visitors with certain devices are going back and not shifting, but actually disappearing, analyze your store and see where the problem might be.

If mobile devices go back, pull up your site or special offers using your smartphone or your browser’s developer tools to see if an error or other conversion killer has crept in.

If the number of visitors in the desktop view is reduced, a new plugin could be the problem. Again, put everything through its paces and, if necessary, have someone else look over it to identify and solve problems.

Here you can see very nicely whether certain marketing measures work, provided you plan them properly. The social media sector in particular is a real gold mine here. With a few targeted actions, you can promote your offers via the free platforms. You don’t even have to place ads, just get in good contact with the community.

Top products in your Shopify store

How did your top products perform and over what time period? Set it individually and look at the development. Seasonal products or perennial favorites can be analyzed very precisely here.

Is your new landing page really coming along as well as you planned? Do your sales in general increase or do the visitors drop out again? Good landing pages are written comprehensively so visitors don’t have to read elsewhere to get their info, too. So-called holistic landing pages are also liked by Google and bring more traffic than others because they rank better.

If the landing page is well written, it will be read to the end, which in turn pleases Google, etc.

You could also refer to certain landing pages via Google Ads and gain new customers this way. If the landing page is good, it means to the visitor that you are knowledgeable about the topic, which in turn increases trust with the customer and increases the chances of sales.
