The Shopify Marketing Update includes Shopify Collabs, some email marketing automation and many more features. With Collabs, you as an online retailer can find the right influencers. With the automatisms, for example. Target shopping cart abandoners and convince them to buy. More about the marketing changes can be found in the video.
Now that we’ve looked at the Shopify Update areas of “Increase Conversion”, “Sell on All Channels”, “Sell Globally” and the Nine B2B features in the last few episodes, we’re more or less getting into the marketing area.
So how do you manage to reach new customers and which Shopify features help you to do so. So what is Shopify Collabs and how does it help you reach your customers?
This is an app that retailers and influencers can use to find each other. That means influencers can present themselves there and you as a retailer can then see who suits you best.
But not only general communication can go through it, you can send samples to specific influencers, generate affiliate links and send them through the platform, as well as handle financial matters through Shopify Collabs. But one or the other diligent viewer will now think to himself – “Wasn’t that already there”?
Indeed. Shopify Collabs was previously called Dovetale by Shopify and can also be viewed again in detail in this video from us. This tool has now been matured and renamed, but how exactly does it work?
The app can be downloaded from the Shopify App Store. This then gives you as a merchant the ability to manage everything relaxed from the Shopify backend. The very first thing you can do here is to create a CI-compliant brand page for your community. On the other hand, as a retailer, you can also proactively search for influencers. Search masks can be used so that you are only shown people from a certain industry. So filter functions are keywords, locations, hashtags, prices and follower count. On the other hand, influencers can also apply to you directly. You can then review these applications under “Applicants” or also “Applicants”. If you want to collaborate with the Influencer, his status will be changed to “Member”. This gives you the possibility to assign several members to groups. Which in turn makes it easier and more time efficient to send gifts. Products from your store can be sent as “gifts” directly from Collabs. The Influencer can then choose the gift depending on it, as well as select the size and color, and specify the preferred delivery address. It’s just as easy to create affiliate links from within Shopify Collabs.
But without tracking, the whole thing doesn’t make too much sense. Of course, you as a dealer also want to know what the whole thing has brought. This is what the conversions section is for. Here you can track all campaigns and analyze which campaigns are successful and which are not.
Another innovation, which also starts in a different place, are the automatisms. These can either be designed yourself or simply selected already prefabricated. This is about abandonment within the customer journey. This can be a cart abandonment, a checkout abandonment, a product search interruption, but also a customer winback or first-purchase upsell automation. The first-purchase automatism looks as follows. A customer pays for the order. It is checked if it was his first order. If this is the case, a marketing email will be sent out automatically after 14 days. You can decide for yourself what this e-mail should look like and what it should contain as an incentive.
You can also use it to customize existing workflows so that the email is sent out after 10 days instead of 14.
And also as before with Shopify Collab, you can monitor the individual workflows and see which automation has brought the most.
