Have Afterbuy set up

Afterbuy is a large eCommerce system designed mainly for multichannel sales. Here, Afterbuy takes over many functions and forms a central interface. As a certified Afterbuy partner, we are happy to set it up for you and connect Afterbuy to online marketplaces, as well as your online store.

So if a customer buys your item on Amazon and it was the last one, the inventory in your online store will be set to 0 and the listing on eBay will be ended to avoid overselling.

The entry is free and already offers the product management, the connection to shipping service providers, multilingualism and the processing module, which saves you time in the sales processing. It is quite good for a test run, because there is no basic fee. Only a small sales fee of €0.15 per sale. With all the features, that’s a fair price.

Set up Afterbuy

The first steps are easy to see. After you have registered and logged in for the first time, you will already see the “Getting Started” section. The main points are

  • Customize invoice and delivery bill (to your design, as well as your legally required information)
  • Activate first contact e-mail to the customer (when buying on eBay, the customer immediately receives an e-mail – under “Configuration / eMailtexts” you can customize the template)

Now you should fill Afterbuy with your products. If you have many products, the easiest way is to use a CSV file. CSV format is universal and is offered in many systems. Sometimes it still needs to be activated by plugin or module, but after that import and export is possible.

The CSV file is basically just a text file where all the item details are included. This will look like this or similar:

SKU;item name;description;net price;
123;Test article;This is a text;29.43;

This is only a short example, real article exports have much more details.

Importing into Afterbuy is relatively simple. In the menu “Import/Export / Universal Import/Export” you create a template. In the “Set or add export/import formats” menu, click on “Create new record (F8) and select the “Products” format from the list. Here you define fields that you want to import or export. This information is very important, which is why the template should be created with expertise. We are happy to support you with this, because we know Afterbuy very well. Connect Afterbuy with eBay, Amazon, etc.

Next, you should connect the different sales channels with Afterbuy. For eBay you can find the configuration in the Management Center under “Settings / Basic settings / eBay settings”. If you have a tariff with API usage at Afterbuy, you can connect Afterbuy and eBay via the API. Normally, eBay sends a purchase confirmation to Afterbuy, which triggers the packing process, etc. If this e-mail should not be sent, the API would take effect. It queries the orders every 8 hours and matches them with the orders in Afterbuy. If one, or perhaps more, is missing here, it will be added.

Amazon is set up via the menu “Sales channels / Marketplace / Amazon”. The linking is done here via the Amazon Marketplace Webservices (MWS). If you already have an MWS account, use this page to start the registration again. Afterbuy then takes over the merchant ID and the token needed for data exchange. It is also useful to check the “Send shipping notification automatically” box. Once you mark the order as “Shipped” in Afterbuy, Amazon will be notified and the payment will be released.

Your products need to be specially prepared for Amazon. They must be equipped with a SKU. This number, also called stock number, can be inserted in different ways. Depending on the product you can use the article number, EAN, product ID or the 10 free fields. The free fields must first be created correctly, for which we will be happy to advise you and do it for you. Special care must be taken here, otherwise Amazon may reject the listing.

The connection to your online store is not that easy, because there are many different store systems and they all work differently. While an interface is available in Afterbuy if you request it, your online store system may not be able to use this interface easily.

For this purpose we have programmers on board who are happy to take care of this matter. We check which store system you use and how the data can be transferred. After that, we will build everything in so that you can use Afterbuy without any further difficulties.
