Can I add people to my WhatsApp channel? This is what the following video is about. For WhatsApp groups, it is very easy to add friends and acquaintances to your own group. But how exactly does this work for your own WhatsApp channel? You can find out in the following tutorial.
Adding people to the WhatsApp channel - is that possible?
We were asked under our “Create WhatsApp channel” video: “How can you add friends to a WhatsApp channel”, which we will now address in this episode.
The WhatsApp groups
Since over 82% of the German population over the age of 14 now use WhatsApp regularly, I assume that each of you has been invited to a WhatsApp group at some point. You often ask yourself how you ended up in this group in the first place. With WhatsApp groups, there are virtually no limits to who the creator can or cannot invite. In principle, any of the contacts would be possible.
Is it possible to add people to the WhatsApp channel?
Now the question is whether this also works for WhatsApp channels and if so, how. Unfortunately, I have to answer this question with a yes and a no. No, you can’t just add your friends like in groups and then make them members of your channel. But, there are other ways to make your friends aware of it and convince them to join the channel. I will now show you these in more detail. To do this, we go to our “Updates” section or in German “Aktuelles” and click on the channel we want to suggest to our friends. Now click on the channel information at the top center. There are now several options here.
These options are available
Option #1: You share the link on other apps. So X, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, etc. As you have seen, you click on “Share” and then select the appropriate option.
Option #2: You send the link directly to your WhatsApp contacts.

And option #3: To do this, go back one step to the channel itself and then click on the link symbol at the top right. From here, we can also create a status post with our integrated link, which will then be displayed to your friends as a WhatsApp story.
Share your WhatsApp channel link
If your friends still don’t want to become members of your WhatsApp channel, there’s only one thing left to do – adjust the content. Create added value, pick a niche and create interesting content that you produce either for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or other popular platforms. With TikTok you could, for example. as a website link, store a link tree link on which your WhatsApp channel can then be found. On YouTube, you could point out in the video that the link is in the video description. Instagram gives you the option of including the link directly in your story so that your story viewers can become members of your channel with one click.
