The new YouTube Super Thanks feature now allows your viewers to donate money directly to you. TikTok already offers this option, and now YouTube is following suit. You can see in the video which requirements you have to fulfill and how the whole thing works.
YouTube Super Thanks Feature - Donations Made Easy
The new feature is designed to give subscribers the opportunity to donate money to Youtubers as a thank you and show of support. TikTok has shown the way. There, users can send money directly to creators through gifts when they go live. Now YouTube is also planning to introduce a similar feature by the end of 2021. This is to bear the name Super Thanks. As the name suggests, subscribers should be able to send a thank you to the YouTuber in this way. To do this, add another button to be created right next to the Share button below the video. The new feature is available in 68 countries for now, according to Google. In addition to the U.S., Canada and Australia, a number of European countries have also been unlocked for the feature. These include countries such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In the future, even more countries are to be enabled for the feature.
YouTube Super Thanks Feature - The Requirements
The prerequisite to use it as a YouTuber is that you participate in the Partner Program. If you do, all you have to do is enable it in your channel’s settings. Once the feature is activated, you will see a new button under your video: a heart with a dollar sign. If this is clicked, then a new window appears. There you can enter a text that will appear as a comment and select an amount that will be sent as a monetary gift. Four amounts are available here: 2,5,10 and 50 euros. In return, the written comment is then displayed at the top and marked by a certain icon. This icon also reveals how much money was sent.
How much does the Creator get in the end?
Afterwards, the donor receives a colorful thank-you animation on their smartphone. YouTube thus creates a new way to earn additional money. Through the partner program, it was previously only possible to earn money through switched advertising in the videos. Now this also works directly through fans and followers. However, up to 30 percent of the revenue goes to the video platform. They refer to this amount as the agent’s share. So if a subscriber sends 10 Euros to the Creator, YouTube gets up to 3 Euros from it. The platform thus also creates an additional way for itself to earn money. By the way, a user can donate a maximum of 500 euros per day and up to 2000 euros per week.
