Before running Facebook / Instagram ads, you need to connect the Facebook page with Instagram
This article will become a kind of prequel, so to speak, preceded by the episode “Place an ad on Instagram”.
Let’s take a look at how you can link your Instagram account to Facebook. This gives you the advantage that you only have to post on one platform and that is shared on the other, but is also essential to be able to run ads on Instagram via the Facebook Ads Manager.
Connect Facebook Page with Instagram
That’s why we get started right away and log into our Facebook account.
Once your data has been saved, you can then simply go to your avatar and you are logged in. This fulfills the first prerequisite. Then go to Instagram, where you should already be logged in. You go to your profile at the bottom right, then click on the three parallel crossbars at the top right, go into settings, into your account and finally into linked accounts. If you are already logged into your Facebook account, which we just made sure you are, all you have to do is click on the respective platform, i.e. Facebook and connect. Now you are connected to your private account, but most likely you should post on your business page. Therefore, we click on Facebook again, click on the top line and now we can select our page here. We have already linked our Facebook page to our Instagram account and can now try posting a picture.
Automatically post Instagram posts to Facebook as well
We can now see here that the post would be automatically shared on Facebook, but we can also disable them manually. We post the picture times and go to our Facebook page. Lo and behold, the picture was also published on Facebook.
