Create OXID eShop suppliers and manufacturers - e-commerce with eBakery
In the last few episodes, we have already made a lot of progress. We now know how to create categories in OXID Shop, create products and assign these categories, and also create new attributes for these products. In today’s episode we will take a closer look at the manufacturers and suppliers and demonstrate how to create them and assign them to products. Create OXID eShop suppliers and manufacturers - clear and innovative
The possibility to create a new manufacturer or a new supplier is given to you this time in the master data in the backend of your OXID eShop. The setup is once again the same and should be familiar to regular viewers. In the upper half you can see the existing suppliers and in the lower part you have the option to create a new one. The situation is similar for manufacturers. We create a new supplier once in the first step. If you set it to active from the beginning, articles of this supplier can be searched in the article list of the administration area. If you do not, it will only be present in the database. The title should be named after the supplier itself. This is how it will be displayed in the supplier list. The short description is simply for you to better match.
Details and trifles
After you have uploaded the icon for the supplier, the file name will then also be visible here for you, but not in the store itself. To demonstrate this, let’s just save. This will show you that the logo has been recognized and at the same time the supplier has been added to the top list. If you should also provide SEO information for your supplier data, this can be adjusted in the SEO tab. However, we don’t consider it useful to have the supplier page indexed, so we’ll leave it that way and just assign the supplier to our test article that we created in one of the last episodes.
Create and assign OXID eShop suppliers and manufacturers
In principle, the same approach, occurs when creating a manufacturer. If you want to use it directly, you should also activate it. Then the title, so it is best to enter the name of the manufacturer here. For yourselves, a brief description and, if necessary, a logo. Once you have entered and inserted all this, the manufacturer will be added to the list after saving. We can now assign articles to it again. You can also do this by selecting the desired product and dragging and dropping it into the right list. If you want these to be visible in the frontend as well, then go to the basic settings in the master data. In the “Performance” tab, make sure that the “Load and display manufacturer list” item is checked. Then you will see that our or your logo is also in the brand overview.
