Do users have any interest at all?
Users will soon be able to choose between three different time periods. You can then choose between 24 hours, 7 days and 90 days. The choice can then be made in the app’s settings. But why would users want to delete old messages in the first place? Because there seems to be rather an interest from many users not to lose older chat histories. It has only been possible to export WhatsApp chats from an iPhone to an Android device for some time now. This function is used when users switch smartphones.
Therefore, it makes sense to ask the question whether users are at all interested in messages deleting themselves.
